The first time I heard of Magic Wheel was through a friend. He told me that he had seen someone driving a cool scooter on the road, and sent me a video. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Its appearance is modern and fashionable and not like any scooter that I have seen before, and I loved how eye-catching it must be when on the road. When I asked my friend to find out what it was called, he informed me it was the Magic Wheel A1 scooter.

As people get older, their legs and feet become less and less flexible. Climbing or walking for a long time are big tasks for me, and my knees often can’t bear it. So, my daughter bought me this Magic Wheel scooter. At first, I was intimidated as to how I use something so high-tech thing but she convinced me to give it a try. I didn't expect that as soon as I sat on it, I not only immediately felt comfortable but that I could fully operate it in no time at all. Now whenever I go out shopping or to take my grandson out to play, I will always drive it. This way my daughter and family don't have to worry about me potentially hurting myself outside and I can relax doing things I’ve always enjoyed.

I consider Magic Wheel like an old friend. My life has changed considerably since I came to know it and the gray days of sitting at home have long gone. Since buying an Magic Wheel, I have been able to travel to many places over the past few years that I would have thought impossible before, such as a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland with my family. Because Magic Wheel can be disassembled and brought onto the plane, it’s great for people like me who love to travel. Wherever I go, I drive by myself, giving me a new sense of independence of not have to rely on my family for help all the time.

I became familiar with Magic Wheel about a year ago. At that time, I had had an accident that resulted in me being paralyzed, and I was not able to accept my new reality psychologically, feeling a deep sense of inferiority which meant that did not like to talk to people or even go out. That was until I happened to see an introduction for the Magic Wheel scooter, which I thought looked both cool and convenient. But to be honest, I didn't believe it could be as good as it looked at the time. Then my parents arranged for me to take a test drive and that’s when I felt that I had recovered my desire to leave the house and explore. For that reason, I want to help get word out about Magic Wheel to other people who may have gone through what I did.

I am an adult but I still have to ask my family to help me get in and out of a wheelchair, and then help push me into the elevator, every time I need to go out. I struggle to get around and sometimes need to ask strangers to help, especially when I need to get my wheelchair up over a curb. I just feel like I am a burden on those around me. Fortunately, I heard about Magic Wheel. With my new scooter, I can easily mount curbs myself as well as go up steep inclines once unimaginable in a regular wheelchair. I’m also not afraid of driving on bumpy stone roads anymore! This feeling of no longer causing trouble for others has given me a new lease of confidence.

I haven't been able to walk for three years because of complications related to diabetes. Although I have hired a housemaid to help with daily tasks, I’m too heavy for them to move and when I’m using a wheelchair, the housemaid is unable to push me up even the smallest slopes. Because of that, I usually don’t go out very often unless there’s something important I need to do. Then my granddaughter bought me this Magic Wheel scooter. I think it’s quite good looking, not like a wheelchair at all, and I could go out and operate it by myself. My old pals now say they envy me very much whenever we meet up!

I have used an electric wheelchair in the past but it was too big and I couldn’t turn it within the elevator at all. I even had to ask neighbors to help press the button when I got in, which was incredibly inconvenient. This Magic Wheel scooter is very good - it can turn around in very small spaces and don’t feel embarrassed in it like I used to with my old chair. The security guard in my compound even joked that he didn’t remember what I looked like, but he recognized my scooter!

My dad drives a big car, but I drive this small car. When my dad and mom take me out to play, they put my car in the trunk of their car. My car is very cool, just like a Transformer - it can be divided into three pieces really quickly and then put back together again just as fast. My mom and dad use the remote control to help me drive my car in the park or they let me drive myself and I can go wherever I want. It’s like a big toy!

I find that I lack the strength to work a manual wheelchair and would have trouble getting in and out of the house as well as navigating the streets. For that reason, I wouldn’t bother going out very often but with my Magic Wheel scooter I can even drive and take on the subway, which I hadn’t done for many years. Now that I can finally use public transport, I feel that I am no different from others.
